The Miter Society honors those who generously support the United Catholic Appeal with leadership gifts of $1,500 or more. Carlo Acutis, who passed away at just 15 years old from leukemia, was a remarkable young man known for his deep faith and his extraordinary talent with technology. Often called the “patron saint of the Internet,” Carlo used his computer skills to create a website cataloging miracles and supported local Catholic ministries online. His dedication was a modern witness to the Gospel. When he was diagnosed with leukemia, he offered his suffering for Pope Benedict XVI and the Church, and expressed his love for St. Francis by choosing to be buried in Assisi. Declared Venerable in 2018, Carlo’s path to sainthood continues with verified miracles attributed to his intercession, including the life-saving healing of a Brazilian man in 2020.
